VOTE: THE FEDERAL BUDGET

Taught by Amy S. Cramer, Ph.D.

Discover a new way to engage your students in lively discussions about the most relevant issues we face as a nation. As a teacher, you have the most important job in our country because you inspire people to think critically and have a positive impact on the world. Voices On The Economy (VOTE) is a Tucson-based, award-winning program that teaches educators to present diverse perspectives in a balanced and accurate way so that students can make up their own minds about what they believe and find their own voices on the issues.

Join us for a no-cost, one-day online workshop (via Zoom) that will delve into the issue of The Federal Budget looking at it from the Conservative, Liberal, and Radical perspectives. What are their different policy ideas? (Annual Balanced Budget? Cyclical Balanced Budget? Sustainable Balanced Budget?) How does each perspective analyze the problem? Interactive program elements will bring the material alive, and we will provide you with lesson plans and other material so you can bring these ideas back to your classrooms.

Appropriate for educators in all subject areas, from middle school through university. No previous knowledge of economics is required. All participants must have internet access on a device with a camera and microphone. Earn 6.0 hours of Professional Development.
