Tucson Initiative for Minority Engagement in Science and TEchnology (TIMESTEP)

The TIMESTEP program is led by Dr. Gurtina Besla, Assistant Professor and Assistant Astronomer in the UA Department of Astronomy and Steward Observatory. The primary goal of the TIMESTEP program is to support STEM undergraduates at the UA while on their academic path and to support their professional development. TRBFF supports TIMESTEP in accomplishing this goal through the TIMESTEP Summer Tech Internship which provides students the opportunity to gain valuable experience in industry and while increase their perspective on career options outside of academia. The internships also gives small and medium sized tech companies in southern Arizona a better understanding of the meaningful contributions these students can provide to their companies.
